Kasur قصُور Is the small district of Punjab and neighbor of Lahore in Pakistan. Internationally its border with Indian Punjab. Kasurr before Putin was the hub of Sikhs and Hindus. Arciture of the city shows the signs for Hinduism and Sikhism. Kasur is the 20th most populated city of Pakistan and home of the great Sufi poet Baba Bulleh Shah. The main feature of this city is also Baba Belleh Shah who wrote Heer in the 17th century. Although Kasur as a name is not old. However, this area saw many faces of the time.Hindus tradition claimed Kusar by their price Kusha of the Ramayan. historical record totally rejected these facts. While kheshgi tribe of Pashtuns from western pakistanfounded this city in 1525. Kasur in the mirror of history ruled by Maurya Empire, Indo-Greek kingdom, Kushan Empire, Gupta Empire, White Huns, Kushano-Hephthalites and Kabul Shah kingdoms, with time to time Kasur had different roles in united India in history at Mughal time it was the city flourished for commerce and trade then after the decline of Mughal empire kasur was Maharaja Ranjit Singh in 1807. British rule was a nightmare for kasur with many reasons such as sales of meat, Muslims, Sikhs ad, Hindus fight with earchother and the incident of of Jallianwala Bagh erupted riots and the martyd of Baghat Singh united Hindu, Muslim and Sikhs. During this period there was too much destruction of civil infrastructure and martial law was imposed on Caesar in 1919. Moreover, In British raj, Britishers built a canal to make this area agricultural land. The time of partition seprate Hindus, Sikhs and Muslims. After the tragic story of partition Kasur became the part of Pakistan. Now Kasur known as the major city and the center of leather tanning after independence, and is home to 1/3rd of Pakistan’s tanning industry.
